The business community and the country at large, will not forget the death of Rajiv Ruparelia who dies at 35, because of his contribution to different sectors which has employed many people. One of the sectors is the education sector, through Victoria University Kampala as the director. It is against this background that Victoria University joined the rest of the country to grieve the death of Rajiv. ” At times are we lost for words. At times we cannot find the right ones and sometimes, “The pain is simply too much to bear, we are in deep sorrow but all is not lost. If we walk the path you showed us, if we honour your vision and the brilliance you brought to building this institution.” Statement reads. The late will be cremated on Tuesday at Hindu crematorium in Lugogo, Kampala on Tuesday 6th May 2025.
The university management continues to state that they celebrate the smart marketing strategies and unwavering support Rajiv gave, and that if they remember how the late reinvented his heart and resources to make the university in the country. “You were a remarkable leader Director Rajiv and your legacy still reigns,” statement ended. The speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Among, through her X handle, said that the country lost someone who made significant contribution to the the country. “I would like to express my sincere condolences to Mr. Sudhir Ruparelia, his family, the staff and management of the Ruparelia group. His untimely death has deprived our country of a young and enterprising mind who made significant contributions to our economy and the employment sector,” she said.
Additionally, the president of national Unity Platform, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi, identified Rajiv as a generous person. “Extremely shocked and saddened by the tragic death of Mr. Rajiv Ruparelia, he was a humble, kind and generous young man. Condolence message to Ugandan business community and everyone whose life Rajiv touched,” he said. In the same manner, the Katikiro of Buganda kingdom, Charles Peter Mayiga, said that losing a child in a such a scenario, is a shock. He empathized with the family. Other dignitaries who empathized with the family are the deputy speaker Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa, who said that Rajiv loved Uganda with all his heart. Property developer, Hamis Kiggundu, in his message said it is a shock. The Kampala central Residence City commissioner, Nsubuga Shafiq Ali, urged Ugandans to be careful with speed, adding that Uganda has lost a powerful businessman. Moses Mayanja the aspiring Member of Parliament for Busiro, assured Ugandans that there’s hope that government will rehabilitate most of the roads in the country. Son to Sudhir and Jyostna Ruparelia, Rajiv died in a motor vehicle accident at Busabala, Kampala.
