The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has officially released the list of candidates shortlisted for the 2025 recruitment exercise following the successful submission of applications.

The names of successful applicants can now be accessed on the official UPDF website at www.updf.go.ug/careers/ as well as at respective District and Municipal headquarters across the country.

The physical recruitment exercise is scheduled to take place from 5th August to 15th August 2025 at designated recruitment centers as earlier announced.

Shortlisted candidates are required to report to their respective centers with the following:

  • Three recent passport-sized photographs
  • An application letter signed by the LC1 Chairperson, District Internal Security Officer (DISO), and the Gombolola Internal Security Officer (GISO)
  • Original academic and identification documents

Candidates who did not indicate their district of residence in their applications must report to the district specified on their National Identification Card.

The UPDF has emphasized that only shortlisted applicants should report to recruitment centers. Any individual found presenting forged documents will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The recruitment process is free of charge, and the public is cautioned to be vigilant against fraudsters and imposters claiming to offer assistance for a fee.

All successful recruits will be required to report to the Kaweweta Basic Military Training School in Ngoma, Nakaseke District, within three days after the recruitment.

This was revealed by Maj. Gen. Felix M. Kulayigye, the spokesperson of the Ugandan People’s Defence Force (UPDF), who also extended best wishes to all candidates participating in this year’s exercise.
