It is against this background that the NRM youth leader in Kisenyi II Parish, Kawuma Sushan, told journalists, he urges his fellow young people to engage in the process and also to avoid disrespecting the president. “Young people get engaged in the NRM party activities and in productive work please. I also advise you to stop abusing president Museveni. The president has done a lot for this country, he deserves our support us young people. I always tell you that the Bus still have some spaces, so, don’t hesitate to join in. I assure you that you won’t be disappointed. You know, it’s better to join a party in leadership. That means that you easily get all the services you are entitled to get as citizen,” he said.

In the same manner, the deputy Headteacher and director of studies at St. John Secondary School Mukono, Kimbowa George William, has reminded learners to avoid evil acts. “I appeal to learners to avoid taking drugs. We are in a generation where you find a big number of learners in rehabilitation centers due to drugs. Please and please, this time is for studies, don’t mix the two. Put all your energy on your education career. The rest will come, but for now, kindly concentrate on your books. Allow me to use this opportunity to as well remind our candidates that we are finalizing with the registration process for Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) by also filling in the marks as required in this new curriculum. So, on that note, we urge parents not to transfer these learners especially those in candidate classes, because they will face challenges,” he said.

The deputy Headteacher also explained how prepared the school is for term two which is kicking off soon. “Concerning term two; we are very much prepared to receive our learners. The teachers have had enough meetings to discuss the challenges of last term, to find ways of how we can avoid them next term. To the parents, I remind them to feel free to contact the Headteacher concerning any issue, especially fees, to avoid disrupting the student when we resume. And they should as well remember that learners are supposed to report early such that they start from where they left off last term. Since we are still in holidays, I ask you children to engage in productive work and avoid friends who lure you into bad acts. I end by calling upon parents to try us. We still have some few vacancies in lower classes but in candidate classes; no, we have the required number of learners,” he said.
