Youths, embark on farming for financial sustainability

As part of its efforts to curb unemployment among youth’s in the country, Girls of Tomorrow Foundation has urged parents to give their children the opportunity to go and learn and skills in growing things like vegetables, livestock and others in sustainable farming.

Speaking to reporters, the founder of the organization, Majorine Namitala, said that after seeing the increasing number of children dropping out of school in Rakai, especially girls, she decided to start the organization with the aim of helping them.

Namitala said the initiative not only skilling youths in Agricultural farming but also training them with computer skills and  doing research programs with the support of the Government of Canada.

Meanwhile, the retired Bishop of West Buganda, Bishop Kefhers Kamya, commended the Girls of Tomorrow Foundation for the good initiative it started in Byakabanda area in Rakai and urged other partners to copy from this and implement it in their areas of residence.
