In celebrations of independence, the Faith of Unity, under the leadership of Omukama Ruhaga Owobusobozi Bisaka, witnessed a remarkable convergence of faith as thousands of people joined during organised trips to Kayunga, Busia and Bugiri. These trips were coordinated by Faith of Unity believers in Kampala Bukwenda Diocese.
The districts visited by Owobusobozi Bisaka included Kayunga in Buganda, Busia and Bugiri in Eastern Uganda, where thousands of believers and non-believers participated in prayers, celebrations, and expressed gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni for his role in bringing peace to Uganda.
Omukama Ruhaga Owobusobozi Bisaka, who is both the head and founder of the Faith of Unity, applauded President Museveni for recognising the faith’s mission to end witchcraft in the country.
He highlighted the achievement registered of the Faith of Unity over the past 44 years and praised the President for investigating and acknowledging their positive impact.
President Museveni’s efforts to eradicate witchcraft in Uganda were commended by Owobusobozi Bisaka, who stated that he is doing an excellent job in promoting unity among Ugandans. Bisaka expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s in Faith of Unity that we rest only three days in a month and spend the rest working, promoting the values of oneness and leaving behind time-consuming religious practices.”
The four-days event begun with a match in Busana town council, Kayunga, where millions of people, believers, and non-believers joined Owobusobozi Bisaka in a procession towards Namukuma Itambiro (worship place) in Kayunga.
The overwhelming turnout caused delays in accessing the venues due to the large number of participants seeking spiritual and physical healing from Omukama Bisaka.
Local leaders attended the event, showing their support to the Faith of Unity and acknowledging its positive impact on the community.
Over 66 individuals in Kayunga entered the itambiro (spiritual dedication) of Omukama Ruhaga Owobusobozi Bisaka.
The events also marked Uganda’s 62nd Independence Day. After visiting Kayunga, Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka proceeded to Busia, where he donated land to the community of Bujegwa to construct a road. During the visit, 77 people joined the Faith of Unity. The journey continued to Bugiri town council, where an additional 672 people joined the faith, including a woman named Benadite Namono, who had suffered from a backache for seven years. Namono stated that she had visited various hospitals without success but was finally healed.
