The Head of the Office of the National Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Hajjati Hadijja Namyalo, has met Members of Parliament and religious leaders from different churches to pray for the recovery of First Lady and Education and Sports Minister, Janet Kataaha Museveni.

The meeting was held at the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) and brought together religious leaders and legislators who joined in prayer for the First Lady, who has reportedly been battling a long-standing illness.

Namyalo said the prayers were intended to seek God’s intervention for the First Lady’s recovery and thanked religious leaders and MPs for joining the initiative.

She also spoke about the support she received from Janet Museveni at a time when she faced challenges in her role at the office entrusted to her by President Yoweri Museveni.

The gathering was attended by Pastor Aloysius Bugingo , Sironko District MP Hajjati Aisha Nabuulo and Busiro South MP Kenan Opio, among others.

Nabuulo and Opio expressed gratitude to God for what they described as Janet Museveni’s recovery, saying they looked forward to her return to the Ministry of Education and Sports.

They said her return would enable her to continue contributing to the development of Uganda’s education sector.

Pastor Aloysius Bugingo thanked God for what he described as divine intervention in Janet Museveni’s health.

Bugingo said the First Lady plays an important role alongside President Museveni, arguing that the contribution of both leaders is important to the country’s progress.

Janet Museveni, who has served as Uganda’s Minister of Education and Sports, has continued to be a prominent figure in government, particularly in education policy and programmes.

The prayers come amid public concern over her health, although details about the nature of her illness and her current medical condition were not disclosed during the meeting..
