The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) commits UGX 45 million to support local sports development at the 26th KAVC International Volleyball tournament, which will commence tomorrow at MTN Arena Lugogo.
This was announced by Arimi Barbra, the Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at NSSF, at the launch of the 26th Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club tournament held at Lugogo Indoor Stadium today. Arimi says that this tournament aims at showcasing and promoting Uganda’s local sports talent.
She added that the highly anticipated annual NSSF KAVC tournament is set to host about 30 teams of both men and women from local and foreign clubs representing four countries: Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Uganda.
Irene Kiconco, the President of KAVC, says this year’s edition is a bit different as they have included the official launch of secondary schools and corporate teams, which were not part of previous editions.
