Prolonged drought in Karamoja is deepening food insecurity, with new data linking dozens of deaths to hunger-related causes. Although the Government and other humanitarian agencies have been providing food relief to affected communities, questions remain about the long-term impact of increasingly unreliable rainfall and prolonged dry spells on livelihoods.
Today, during our Mama FM Tusabale programme with Mosh Ddamba, we are focusing on the climate change dimension of the Karamoja crisis and examining how changing weather patterns are affecting food production, livestock and the lives of vulnerable communities.
