World leaders have agreed on the Pact for the Future, an important international agreement to tackle some of the world’s biggest challenges and create a fairer, more sustainable future.

This agreement took years to develop and includes major initiatives like the Global Digital Compact and the Declaration on Future Generations. It addresses a wide range of issues, including peace, climate change, technology, and human rights.

Key points:

Sustainable Development: Leaders promised to speed up progress on global goals like ending poverty and protecting the environment. It also includes changes to financial systems to give developing countries more influence.

Youth and Future Generations: The pact include the declaration on future generations, making sure future generations are considered in today’s decisions and more opportunities for young people to have a say in global issues.

Gender Equality: The agreement strengthens commitments to gender equality while protecting those who defend it.

Peace and Security: The pact included reforms to the UN Security Council for the first time since the 1960s giving more representation to African nations. It also calls for the elimination of nuclear weapons and stronger rules for the peaceful use of outer space.

This pact reflects the input of millions of people from around the world and sets the stage for continued global cooperation in the years to come.
