In Uganda, domestic workers, often referred to as housemaids or housegirls, are integral to the functioning of countless households. They earn an average of less than USD 14, working long hours with little or no protection. For many housemaids, the struggle isn’t just about the long hours; it’s a constant battle to make ends meet. Listen to Mama FM’s educational radio programme “Abakyala Tweyogere“—Women Let’s Talk, which airs every Thursday from 1:15 to 3:00 p.m. The audio production is in Luganda.

Cry of a housemaid “We are not invisible. We are human beings and we deserve to be treated better.”
