National Drug Authority responds on media reports regarding contamination of animal products and feeds with arvs

After several media  reports from members of public that livestock is being fed on ARVs which is meant for the HIV/AIDs patients ,NDA has responded to the reports that the matter is known and being followed up only that it was not made public for fear of raising alarm and impacting Uganda’s economic earning from animal exports abroad.

In the news statement issued, NDA says since ever such reports concern the misuse of drugs come out has conducted investigations and a scientific review and determined that the reported levels were very low to cause unnecessary public alarm. In the some way enforcement operations, arrests and persecutions have been carried on to discipline those misusing arvs
