The leader and founder of the Faith of Unity, Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka, has called on believers to actively engage in government programmes and support the NRM government, led by H.E. President Yoweri Museveni. He also urged them to back him in the upcoming elections.
Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka made these remarks while addressing congregants at the International Stadium in Muhorro during the 39th Flower Day (Children’s Day) celebrations.
He stressed the importance of hard work as the key to achieving success and wealth. Praising the NRM government for maintaining peace, Owobusobozi Bisaka stated that without President Museveni’s support for investigations, the Faith of Unity might not have achieved global unity among its followers.
He urged his followers to redouble their efforts in all government initiatives, underlining diligence as a vital principle.
The event began with a grand procession from the Kapyemi Headquarters of the Faith of Unity to the Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka International Stadium in Kyalubayinga, Muhorro Sub-county, Kagadi District.
During the function, approximately 275 individuals from various religious backgrounds converted to the Faith of Unity. Owobusobozi Bisaka welcomed them by presenting each with the Book of God of the Age of Oneness and the Faith of Unity calendar. He advised the new members to use the calendar to enhance their productivity, noting that it designates only a few rest days (the 2nd, 12th, and 22nd of each month), leaving 27 days for work.
The celebration of Flower Day holds deep significance for the Faith of Unity, symbolising unity, hard work, and active participation in national development. The occasion commemorates a historic event on 2nd July 1986, when Owobusobozi Bisaka reportedly helped many women deliver their children—free of charge—after suffering the effects of supposed satanic charms that had prevented childbirth.
In gratitude, the women, carrying their children and holding flowers, accompanied him around the town of Muhorro, singing, “Omukama Ruhanga Owamahe Goona Muhikiriire Tumukugize Itwena.” This tradition has since been observed annually.
