Ajuri County reach Dwog Pacu Cup 2026 final after aggregate win

LIRA CITY, LANGO — Jacob Oulanyaa’s strike sealed victory in the evening as Alebtong Giants booked their place in the Dwog Pacu Cup 2026 final, where they will face defending champions Kioga County.

The Alebtong side secured their place in the final after completing a dominant semi-final performance against Lira City East.

Heading into Sunday’s return leg with a 2-0 advantage from the first leg, Alebtong ensured there was no comeback as they secured a 1-0 victory, completing a 3-0 aggregate win on Sunday, 26 July 2026.

Jacob Oulanyaa was the hero on the evening, with his strike giving Ajuri the lead and putting the tie beyond doubt. The midfielder’s composure in front of goal earned him the Man of the Match award, along with 50 tree seedlings.

From the first whistle, Ajuri looked organised and patient.

They absorbed pressure from the city dwellers and responded with counter-attacks. Oulanyaa’s goal proved to be the difference, but the entire Ajuri backline deserves credit for maintaining a clean sheet across both legs.

Lira City East fought hard but could not find a way past an Ajuri side that has grown stronger with each round of the Dwog Pacu Cup.

Ajuri County will face defending champions Kioga County next Sunday in what is expected to be one of the most fiercely contested finals in Dwog Pacu Cup history.

Kioga secured their place in the final on Saturday after a 1-0 victory over Moroto County. Geoffrey Emor scored the only goal of the match to send the defending champions through with a 1-0 aggregate win.

It will be a contest between experience and momentum, with Kioga entering the final as defending champions, while Ajuri arrive with an impressive semi-final record and the tournament’s in-form scorer, Oulanyaa.

Fans across Lango are expected to turn up in large numbers for the final, which will kick off next Sunday at 3:00 pm (EAT).
