P.1 Pupil Knocked Dead Along Soroti Lira Highway

Police Officers are at the scene to record the details of the incident as investigation takes placee

A Primary One child, aged between 8-10 years, has died on Sunday morning 23rd August 2026 after being knocked by a car registration number UBM 727U along Lira-Soroti road.

According to the area Local Council One Chairperson of Agengi Bar -dyang , Mr. Adonyo Felix, who spoke from the scene on Sunday morning, the child died instantly.

Adonyo said the driver who was driving from Soroti road to Lira did not stop after knocking the child and continued driving, but was later intercepted by police in Amugu.

By press time, police from Dokolo Police Station had arrived at the scene and recorded statements.

Adonyo confirmed the deceased is a Primary One pupil.
