Wisdom High School Set to Host Historic FUFA Girls’ Football Trials in Kole

​Wisdom High School, located in Akalo Sub-County along the Lira–Aduku Road in Kole District, has finalized all arrangements to host the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Girls’ Football Trials and Talent Identification Clinic scheduled for August 18–19, 2026.

​Established in February 2018 as a mixed Christian boarding institution offering both Ordinary and Advanced Level education, Wisdom High School operating under the motto “Wisdom for Excellence” has rapidly grown into a powerhouse for both academic performance and co-curricular development in Northern Uganda. The school’s selection as one of only four centers nationwide—and the sole center in the region—to host the prestigious FUFA Girls’ School of Excellence framework underscores its position as a flagship institution for sports development.

​Participating athletes are expected to report on Monday, August 17, 2026, ahead of the rigorous two-day assessment. The trials will cater primarily to talented female footballers aged 12 to 16 years under the direct sponsorship of FUFA. Candidates who successfully navigate the FUFA selection process will receive full scholarship packages, covering academic tuition, basic scholastic materials, training kits, and pocket money. Additionally, Wisdom High School technical staff will separately evaluate players aged 17 to 19 years to offer internal secondary school sports scholarships and academic placements.

​Speaking ahead of the trials, Wisdom High School Director Ambrose Ogwal rallied parents, guardians, and local sports stakeholders across the Lango, Acholi, and West Nile sub-regions to encourage young, gifted athletes to take full advantage of the platform. Ogwal emphasized that early talent nurturing—starting from as young as 8 to 12 years in future expanded programs—is vital to building long-term, sustainable athletic careers. He noted that the initiative serves as a crucial springboard for young women seeking to advance to the National Football Academy, national youth squads, and international football platforms.

​The school administration has assured the public that all necessary infrastructure, security, and emergency medical arrangements—including standby medical units—are fully operational to handle the physically demanding evaluation process. Local sports organizers have urged parents to ensure that participating girls engage in adequate physical preparations prior to reporting, positioning Kole District as a focal point for the future of Ugandan women’s football.
