Decomposed body of 30-year-old woman found in Dokolo; husband and brother Arrested

DOKOLO — Police in Dokolo District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 30-year-old woman whose decomposed body was recovered from a bush near her home in Agengi village, Bardyang Parish, Adok Sub-county.

​The victim, identified as Babra Akullo, had been reported missing three days prior to the discovery.

​Discovery of the Body

​The body was discovered by an area resident, Patrick Okello, who was heading out for a hunting trip when he stumbled upon the scene.

​”I spotted the body in the bush and immediately alerted the LC1 Chairman,” Okello said.

​Eyewitnesses at the scene noted that the deceased sustained visible deep cuts on her buttocks, raising suspicions of foul play.

​Police Investigation and Arrests

​Police have arrested Akech’s cohabiting partner, Ojuka Umar, along with his brother, Bernard Obete. Both suspects are currently held in police custody to assist investigators in establishing the motive and details surrounding the crime.

​Investigations remain ongoing, and authorities are expected to release further updates following a post-mortem examination.
