Former Lango Queens and UPDF FC Shot-Stopper Irene Alum Now First Choice Goal keeper at AS Kigali WFC

Irene Alum the goalkeeper, is now making waves in Rwanda’s top women’s league.

Irene joined AS Kigali WFC in December last year from UPDF Women FC. She has since cemented her place as the team’s first choice goalkeeper

“It was not easy for me, but I have made it as first choice,” Irene said, reflecting on her move to the more competitive Rwandan league.

Peace Cup Success

In another tournament Peace Cup Irene helped AS Kigali finish 3rd overall.
Her standout performances earned her the Best Goalkeeper award in the tournament.

From Lango to Regional Stage
Irene’s journey started with Lango Queens before moving to UPDF FC Women in Uganda. Her December transfer to AS Kigali marks a big step in her career and continues to put Lango talent on the regional map.
