Opoka Christopher Elected Kitgum USSSA Chairperson as New Team Takes Office

KITGUM — Kitgum District has a new leadership team for school sports after the election of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Executive Committee for 2026-2030.
The new executive was unveiled this week and will oversee all secondary school sports activities in the district for the next four years.

Finance Secretary/Treasurer :Oringa Richard-Y.Y Okot Memorial College

General Secretary:Okot Oscar- Kitgum Standard Secondary School
Assistant General Secretary:Olanya Up Benson – Orom Seed Secondary School
Secretary for Women Affairs: Amulen Florence – Kitgum High School

The new team takes office at a time when school sports in Kitgum are growing, with more schools participating in USSSA competitions at zonal, regional, and national levels.
The executive is expected to focus on improving organization of district games, talent identification, and preparing teams to compete and represent Kitgum at regional and national championships.
School heads and games teachers have welcomed the new leadership, expressing hope that it will strengthen sports development and student participation across the district.
