Alebtong, Uganda — BA Public Nursery and Primary School in Alebtong District has dedicated 82 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) candidates to God ahead of the forthcoming national examinations, seeking divine wisdom, protection, good health and success.
The dedication ceremony, held on the school premises in Abongodyang, Apala Town Council, brought together school leaders, teachers, parents, candidates and religious leaders to pray for the learners as they prepare to sit their final primary school examinations.
Delivering the sermon, Pastor Nikolas Opio of Yahweh Pentecostal Assembly of God, Telelela Assembly, Moroto Zone, commended parents for their continued investment in their children’s education.
He noted that education remains a vital foundation for personal development and the future of the community, urging parents to continue supporting their children through school fees, learning materials, encouragement and prayer.
Pastor Opio encouraged the candidates to put their trust in God, reminding them that success requires faith, discipline, hard work and proper preparation.
Drawing lessons from the biblical account of King Solomon, he urged the learners to seek wisdom and understanding from God, emphasising that wisdom is essential for making sound decisions and overcoming challenges.
He also cautioned the candidates against allowing fear or examination pressure to discourage them, urging them to remain focused, confident and committed to their studies.
The sermon was guided by Proverbs 8:22–29, which highlights God’s wisdom and His role in creation, and Numbers 6:24–26, which contains the Priestly Blessing calling upon God to bless, protect and grant peace to His people.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Director of BA Public Nursery and Primary School, Bernard Acedo, said the school was established in 2020 and began presenting candidates for Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) examinations in 2022.
He outlined the school’s performance in the PLE over the years, saying that in 2023, it obtained 15 First Grades, while in 2024, the number increased to 19.
In 2025, a total of 30 candidates sat the PLE, with the best-performing pupil scoring an aggregate of six, followed by another who scored an aggregate of 11. The remaining candidates also achieved good grades.

Mr Acedo also confirmed that BA Nursery and Primary School was ranked 105th out of more than 15,000 schools nationally.
He thanked parents for trusting the school management and consistently fulfilling their responsibilities.

The school has a total enrolment of 672 learners this year, according to the headteacher.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for God’s guidance, protection and blessings upon the candidates, their families and the entire school community.
“May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.”
