LRA Returnees and Lango Diocese to Hold Prayer for Survivors

Organizing committee for the prayer held meeting ahead of the event

Lord Resistants Army (LRA)Returnees under their Association in collaboration with Lango diocese are planing to Organize prayer that aims to bring together survivors who were abducted by the Lord Resistant Army (LRA) and later returned home.

The purpose of the event is to seek God’s forgiveness .

Provost of Lango Diocese, Rev. James Okaka, said it important for the leaders to come together in prayer so that God may forgive them for the lives lost during the war.

He added that Christians and Muslims will unite in prayer to ask God for forgiveness and to pray for peace, noting that life remains difficult for many communities.

Okaka, who also chaired the meeting said preparations are already underway.

Abel Ogeny, Coordinator of the Initiative in Lango, said plans are also in place to travel to Acholi Sub-region to do mobilization so that they can come and attend the prayer scheduled for 9th September 2026 at Boroboro.

Morish Okello, Chairperson of the Initiative, said the group was formed to seek government support.

He explained that initial efforts to raise funds to address their needs were unsuccessful, prompting them to organize the prayer and commit everything to God while asking for forgiveness for past wrongs.
