17 Clubs Confirmed for Northern Novice Boxing Championship in Gulu

GULU CUTY –The Northern Regional Novice Boxing Championships 2026 is set for Gulu City with 17 clubs now confirming participation.

The confirmed clubs are Nwoya BC, Alepton BC, Pece BC, Lira City BC, Gulu BC, Arua City BC, Opeta BC, Taks BC, Nuba BC, Katrini BC, Pece Korgar BC-Omoro, Arua BC, Unique BC-Kitgum, Laliya Power House BC, Lira Destiny BC, Lacor Paradise BC and Padi BC.

Speaking to our sports desk, the Chairman Boxing Northern Region Denis Mulidra said the delay in confirming the date was because they were waiting to meet the Central Executive members from Uganda Boxing Federation who came and met them on Wednesday and confirmed the date as required.

According to the new program, the championship will start with an official weighing on Friday 5th September 2026 at 7:30am at Gulu Community Park, while the main boxing action will be on Sunday 7th September 2026.

The championship is expected to attract hundreds of fans as young boxers battle for regional glory.
