Missionary Ventures International (Rex and Melinda) and the Christian Motorcycle Association, through Called to Serve Ministries, have donated 10 motorcycles worth UGX 54 million to church leaders and pastors in the Acholi sub-region.
The 10 motorcycles were handed over on Sunday to six districts within the Acholi sub-region: Nwoya, Omoro, Lamwo, Kitgum, Agago, and Pader. The handover took place at the Called to Serve Ministries headquarters in Bajere, Lamit parish, Labongo Akwang subcounty, Kitgum district.
During the handover, Pastor Okumu Ronald of Called to Serve Ministries emphasised that the motorcycles should not be personalised but used strictly for church activities. He also cautioned against using the motorcycles for personal businesses, such as boda-boda services, adding that any misuse would lead to reassignment of the motorcycles to other responsible individuals within the church.
Pastor Okumu further noted that the church is offering vocational training skills to vulnerable children and will provide them with start-up equipment upon completion of the training. He urged members to safeguard church property to help extend the reach of God’s word across borders.
Pastor Odokonyero Vincent Brian of Voice of Salvation and Healing Church, and spokesperson for the National Fellowship of East Acholi, whose church also received a motorcycle, stated that it will ease transportation and enable him to visit other distant churches he serves.
