As we count days to yet another release of exam results of 2024 (UACE), schools across the country are still organising various events since the day, the ministry of education and sports released the 2024 Uganda certificate of education (UCE) results. The chairperson board of governors of Bugema Adventist Secondary School, Ambassador Kigguli Habert, revealed that the school is going to construct a VIT laboratory. “I have informed to the parents that in the next two months, we are going to construct a VIT Lab where hands-on trainings will be held.” he said.
Mr Kigguli made these remarks during the thanksgiving ceremony held at the school at Gayaza-Zirobwe road, Wakiso District. “Today, we have been thanking God for our 2024 UCE learners who performed very well. Apart from all passing in result one, ours is extraordinary and we are happy that 78.4% of our learners, got A and B, which we treasure. Therefore we urge parents to add us students in senior one and senior five because our school is ready to do all and make sure that Bugema goes back to the top position.” he said.
Ms Kirabo Ruth Balidwa, one of the learners who sat for 2024 UCE examinations under the new curriculum thanked God, their parents and teachers. “I thank God who enabled us pass. The challenges I got with the new curriculum is that things kept changing. But I thank our teachers who always updated us and we managed to pass.” she said. Bugema Adventist Secondary School’s new laboratory will be for senior four and senior six students where all trainings will be conducted. The preacher who led the thanksgiving prayers is Denis K who who preached from the Book of 1 Samuel 7:11-12 which says in brief, Ebenezer.
In the same manner, the Retired Bishop of Kampala Diocese, Bishop Hannington Mutebi, led a thanksgiving prayers at St. Janan Secondary School, Kabalagala in Kampala. During his preaching, the Bishop asked learners to make God their number one in their lives if they are to succeed in this life full of challenges. “Allow God to be number one in your lives, you will never regret.” he said. All their students passed according to the headteacher, Emmanuel Mwebe. The Bishop was accompanied by his dear wife Milly Mutebi who appealed to the congregation to put in practice what the Bishop preached.
