Following their victory as students’ leaders of Victoria University (VU) Kampala, in February 2025 elections, the elected leaders yesterday where sworn-in. The swearing in ceremony was officiated by the acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Augustin Isamor.
The university congratulated the 7th guild government of for a term well served. “Your dedication and leadership have left a lasting impact. We warmly welcome the 8th guild government as they embark on this journey of service and excellence” VU tweeted.
The 2025/2026 guild government is led by a third-year Bachelor of Pharmacy student, Khaukha Emanuel who won the guild presidential elections after scoring 2,669 votes, which represents 75.8% of the total 3,522 votes cast. His main opponent, Mr. Mugundho Robin Percy, received 856 votes, which represents 24.4% of the vote.
“I assure you that my administration is committed to delivering top-tier service, transparency, and impactful leadership. Your voices matter and together we will create an environment that fosters innovation, empowerment and success.” Khaukha said. Adding that his position is more than a title. “This is more than a title, its a commitment to lead with vision, integrity and innovation.” he emphasized.
Pastor Wilson Bugembe, the lead pastor of the Worship House Church in Nansana municipality who was the guest of honor, during the swearing in ceremony, urged the 8th guild government to always have faith and not to disappoint God, because if it wasn’t by God’s grace, none of them would have been made to the 8th guild government. He thanked the university for availing him a chance to speak to students. He prayed for the University leadership.
“A special appreciation to Pastor Wilson Bugembe who graced our swearing in as guest of honor. Pastor, your words of wisdom, prayers and blessings touched our hearts and strengthen our resolve to lead with faith, compassion and purpose.” Guild president said on behalf of his administration. The ceremony was graced by students, university leadership among others.
The 8th government of Victoria University Kampala also extended its message to the Muslim community of the university. “Warmest and most heartfelt wishes to the Muslim community of Victoria University Kampala, as you observe the blessed month of Ramadan, may this sacred time bring you abundant peace, unwavering faith and countless blessings. Ramadan Mubarak to you and your loved ones. May your prayers be answered and your spirits uplifted.” Khaukha tweeted.
